The Year of Climate Care is a project and initiative inspired by global environmental movements and discussions on climate change and its impact on communities. Its conceptual background is framed by the themes of the New European Bauhaus initiative.

The aim is to support and develop activities in the creative and educational sectors to prevent the negative impacts of climate change on social, cultural, and everyday life, to promote the transition to a carbon-free future, and to provide education on climate change and ways to adapt to it.

The expected long-term outcome is that the organizers and partners will establish a distributed, interdisciplinary platform for knowledge exchange and cooperation between the creative, educational, and other sectors.

The term climate care is already known; its principle is to take an active approach to challenges by using a positive concept alongside the established terms climate crisis and climate change, while directing attention to the crucial area of care.
