Forest Hotel
Project Type
Interior Design
Date
December 2019
Adress
Hotel Partizán, Tále 108, 977 01 Bystrá, Slovak Republic
The aim of the project is the design of Hotel Partizán, where the atmosphere of the forest is vividly expressed, creating a natural human “ecosystem.” The concept is not about imitating the image of the forest, but about drawing inspiration from its strategies and the ways plants, animals, and its individual parts function. The spatial layout therefore reflects both the main idea and the building as a whole. The architecture is not suppressed but emphasized – its structural elements form the basis of functional zones that mirror the layers of the forest ecosystem, from the point of entry to its deepest parts.
The hotel becomes a refuge in which orientation plays a key role. This is achieved through a optic fiber light installation that creates a central focal point at the entrance and guides visitors toward the reception – symbolically representing the riverbed, the source of life in the forest. Water is expressed through the flooring, while wood and trees are evoked by the building’s structural elements. The forest atmosphere is further enhanced by the choice of materials – simple, clear, yet diverse.
The design of the hotel offers a spatial experience that emphasizes the character of the forest through layout and circulation, reflecting its untouched nature, mystery, and ability to provide each individual with what they seek.
The project was awarded The Prize of Professor Halabala in 2020.
